How does reddit store media?

I am curious as to how Reddit stores media that is uploaded to its site. Stuff like gifs, images, and videos. Are they stored to a database or to a file location on their server?
If you were to design media storage and retrieval for a site like Reddit how would you do it?
Do you have any resources that might shed light on best practices when storing and retrieving media?
Top Comment: A CDN like Backblaze B2 or AWS S3. You don't store files in the database, period. Just their locations.
